About Healthwatch (UK)
We are an independent body formed in August 2002 to promote debate and awareness as to the current abuse by non-entitled persons to the resources of the National Health Service.
| Who is funding Healthwatch (UK)? |
Initial funding is from a trust. Private donations are welcome.
| What is your basis for claiming that abuse is taking place? |
What we the general public see is only the tip of the iceberg visible by what we see in press reports. The medical profession is full of stories of people seeking treatment who have no knowledge of English and whose origins are in countries without reciprocal health arrangements. Doctors are not policemen and rather than run the risk of being abused as racist push patients through the system.
| What do you hope to achieve? |
Debate so that the general public can decide. All the political parties are avoiding the issue, and no matter how much money is put into the Health Service it will never improve because demand will always exceed supply.
Healthwatch (UK) is a non-charitable company.
